Facility Overview
If its information youre looking for, visit the Base Library. In addition to a collection of more than 40,000 books including 7,000 juvenile titles, the library has videos, DVD's, books-on-tape, books-on-CD, CDs, and over 200 periodicals. The computerized catalog offers inter-library loan access to over 70 Illinois libraries, with books delivered daily to the Scott Library.
Housed in designated areas are the Professional Military Education collection, the Reference section, a Young Adult Collection, and the Veterans Literary Collection. Children have their own room, including a working train! A reading room, quiet study areas, and a small conference room provide space for leisure reading to serious study.
The library houses a computer lab with PCs, printers and a scanner. Internet access is available for reference and research, including many on-line resources. A photocopier and micro-form reader/printer are also available. Wireless Internet access is also available so bring in your laptop and get connected!
