Region Legal Service Office Northwest (RLSO NW) provides prosecution, command services, and court-reporting support to Navy and Marine Corps commands and legal assistance to active duty, family members, and retirees located within its assigned geographic area (currently encompassing 11 states -- Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska), and performs such other functions and tasks as may be directed by competent authority.

RLSO NW provides legal consultation and command services support primarily for Navy commands without their own assigned judge advocate or general counsel. Command clients can contact the closest installation staff judge advocate (SJA) or a command services provider from the Command Services Department at the headquarters in Bremerton and Branch Offices at Whidbey Island and Everett. Legal Assistance
RLSO NW provides legal assistance to active duty service members and their dependents, and reservists on active duty for 30 days or more, and to retirees on a variety of topics. Legal assistance can include advice on topics such as consumer/financial affairs, disaster relief support and advice, family law, foreclosure advice and counseling, immigration, notary services, powers of attorney, landlord/tenant matters, Servicemembers' Civil Relief Act, small claims court matters, victim assistance, and wills/estate planning.
