The McAlester Army Ammunition Plant's (MCAAP) Legal Office services active duty military personnel, military retirees, and eligible family members of active duty and retired military personnel. Certain services are also provided for deploying civilian Department of Army employees. Legal assistance services provided by licensed attorneys include voter assistance as well as almost all services rendered by civilian attorneys, except representation in civilian court or in matters concerning private income producing activities. Within these limitations, the legal assistance attorneys and staff may provide legal counseling, prepare letters, wills and powers of attorney, provide notary service, negotiate legal disputes with third parties, review and explain legal documents (sales contracts, leases, court papers, etc.), provide pro se assistance in limited situations, or make referrals to civilian attorneys when appropriate.
