Lincoln Military Housing at Fort Sam Houston offers 925 homes within its eight villages.
The base is adjacent to the city of San Antonio with its abundance of recreational opportunities for military families. Several must-see attractions include the Alamo, the Riverwalk, the Missions, the Alamodome, SeaWorld San Antonio, and the Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park. The city features world-class parks such as Brackenridge Park, the San Antonio Zoo and Eagle miniature train, as well as golf courses, art galleries, museums and cultural centers. An active calendar of events includes rodeos and citywide celebrations, such as the colorful 10-day Fiesta San Antonio.
Surrounding scenic parks include Salado Creek and McAllister, with ample shopping along I-35 north. The Corpus Christi beach is a scenic two -hour drive away, while Rockport, Port Aransas and Mustang Island also make wonderful places to visit.
An elementary, middle, and high school are available on-base, and the SAMMC San Antonio Military Medical Center is located less than a mile from Fort Sam Houston.
