Legal Assistance at Fort Hamilton - Provides legal advice on Military Administrative actions, family law issues, landlord/tenant issues, debtor/creditor issues, taxes, wills, and other legal matters. Notarization and Powers of Attorney are provided on walk-in basis (no appointment needed), but call ahead to make sure there is someone there if your action is time-sensitive.
Claims - Provide assistance in filing and processing personnel claims (including moving claims and damaged household goods), Federal Torts Claims Act and Military Claims Act claims IAW AR 27-20
The Magistrate Court Prosecutor prosecutes misdemeanors and violations on post and provides legal advice and other Judge Advocate services specified in AR 27-1 to Army agencies and units. Persons and vehicles entering the post are subject to search. Offenses of special concern include possession/distribution of controlled substances; PX shoplifting; driving while intoxicated; vandalism; theft; assault; harassment; possession of weapons; unregistered, unlicensed, or uninsured vehicles; and unauthorized parking.
