The Airman's Attic at Eglin AFB is designed to help defray the cost of setting up a household by providing some children's clothes, baby items, household items and furniture without cost to eligible active-duty military members here, including Army Rangers, Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal, and all other units supported by the base. Eligible members include E-5 and below, as well as any active-duty member in a time of need.

We’re from Hurlburt, but we did not know we were not allowed to use Eglin’s Airman Attic. Many friends had recommended we go there to check for bigger furniture. When we arrived we were told that we couldn’t use the facility, which is completely fine. What was not fine is that while we walked around “just looking” the guy followed us and made my family feel very uncomfortable. We are by no means rich, but he made us feel poor and like trying to scam the Airman Attic system.
