Courthouse Bay Recreation Center, also known as The Sandbar, is located near the Sneads Ferry back gate and is approximately 10 miles from the center of Camp Lejeune. Home of the Marine Corps Engineer School, Utilities Instruction Company, 2d Assault Battalion, Coast Guard, Recon and Force Recon, it is also one of the homes of the Single Marine Program (SMP).
It is an all-ranks Recreation Center. Students and permanent personnel can stop by and enjoy a variety of recreational services. The Rec Center also conducts a variety of events such as billiard tournaments, Texas Hold’em tournaments, DJ amateur karaoke nights, indoor and outdoor movie nights, cookouts, sports parties, annual softball tournaments, annual luau party, trips, live entertainment and many other fun and exciting special events and tournaments.
